There are four main trenchless technologies: pipe bursting; modified cross section; sliplining; and cured in place process. While each form of trenchless pipe rehabilitation is less disruptive and less expensive than traditional open cut methods, pipe bursting (utilized by Renaissance) is the only solution to replace dilapidated sewer pipe with an entirely new long-lasting pipe with water tight seals at each lateral service connection, resulting in superior long-term inflow and infiltration reduction. As inflow and infiltration is decreased, less wastewater must be treated at municipal sewer treatment facilities, thereby lowering overall wastewater treatment expense. Pipe-bursting has multiple advantages over other trenchless solutions:
